Before launching a new feature of Instagram again, it started a testing process. But this time, the tested feature is of interest to those who share video posts from Instagram. In fact, this innovation, which we can describe as a radical change rather than a feature, paved the way for all video posts on Instagram to be shared as Reels.
INSTAGRAM TURNS VIDEOS INTO REELS
According to the quote, Instagram’s change is aimed at converting video posts into Reels. The company notes that they are testing the change, which is currently being tested with select users around the world, as part of efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram.
Social media A screenshot shared on Twitter by consultant Matt Navarra showed that people who were part of the test would see an in-app message that said “video posts are now shared as Reels”.

The message states that if your account is public and you post a video that turns into Reels, anyone can discover your Reels and use them to create their own. Of course, if your account is set to private, your Reals will only be visible to your followers. The message also states that when you publish a Reels, anyone can remix your Reels if your account is public. However, it is possible to prevent this in your account settings.
VIDEO SCALES CAN CREATE PROBLEMS
It is unknown when Instagram plans to roll out the change to a wider audience. But if the change becomes permanent, some difficulties may arise. For example, Reels load vertically so it can be difficult to post a horizontal video. In addition, Instagram has not said how this change will affect current videos on Instagram. Let’s see what developments will take place in this regard in the coming days.
