The 2021-22 season and the NBA draft are in the books, and now all eyes are on the start of free agency. The speculation and rumors surrounding free agency are what make this time of year really fun. This summer may not have some of the biggest names available on the free agent market, but it’s still a busy season. Hours before the official launch of Free Agency, Kevin Durant asked to switch out of Brooklyn nets. One of the NBA’s biggest stars is now switching teams this summer, and the KD trade order will no doubt affect how teams handle their informal affairs.
NBA free agency begins Thursday at 6 pm ET, when teams can begin negotiating deals with players. However, the contracts will not be official until the moratorium is lifted on July 6. The NBA has reportedly told teams that the salary cap for next season is expected to be $123.6 million, $11.6 million more than last year’s salary cap of $112 million. . Zach LaVine (Bulls) and Bradley Beal (Wizards) agreed to max deals to return to their teams. Nicks made a move by acquiring Jalen Brunson. Also, the Eastern Conference champion Celtics have improved after pulling out of a deal to sign Pacers guard Malcolm Brugdon, and Danilo Gallinari is also set to sign.
