Yannick Sener weathered a blow to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon with a 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-3 win over John Isner.

The 6-foot-6 Isner reached No. 13,729, breaking the ATP Tour record held by Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic. He finished the match with 24 aces.

Italian number 10 Sener will next face Carlos Alcaraz. The fifth-seeded Spanish footballer beat Oscar Oti 6:3, 6:1, 6:2.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon with a 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 win over Miomir Kekmanovic on Center Court.

The six-time Wimbledon champion has won the last three men’s singles titles at the All England Club.

Serbia will face Tim van Roethoven, the number one seed from the Netherlands.

Eliza Mertens defeated 2018 Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber 6-4 7-5 in the third round match at the All England Club.

Kerber, 34, has won three Grand Slam titles and reached the semifinals at Wimbledon a year ago. He was the fifteenth German classifier.

Belgian number 24 Mertens has reached the fourth round in four Grand Slam tournaments in a row.

John Isner is the official king of aces.

The 6-foot-6 American hit gold at Wimbledon with a 13.729, breaking the ATP Tour record held by Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic.

Isner set the record in a third-round match against Yannick Sinner on court no. 2.

The ATP said it was the most since the tour began chasing aces in 1991.

Fifth seed Maria Scari of Wimbledon exited in the third round, losing to Tatiana Maria 6-3, 7-5.

This is the first time the 34-year-old footballer has reached the fourth round in a major tournament.

Skari qualified for the semi-finals twice in the Grand Slam tournament, but the 26-year-old Greek made 30 unforced errors on court 2 against her German opponent.

The 12th seed Maria will face the 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko.

Anas Jabert, seeded third, reached the fourth round of the Wimbledon tournament, beating the French Diana Berry 6-2, 6-3.

He will next face former champion Angelique Kerber or Elise Mertens in the quarterfinals.

Jaber reached the quarterfinals a year ago as part of the All England Club.

Heather Watson also reached the fourth round for the first time, beating Slovenia’s Kai Govan 7-6 (6) 6-2. The 30-year-old Briton will play the All England Club singles for the 12th time.

Watson will next face Julia Niemeyer from Germany.

Qualifier Jack Sock became the eighth American player to reach the third round at Wimbledon with a 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (1) win over fellow countryman Maxime Creasy.

Those eight represent a quarter of the 32 players in the third round, Most of the US Grand Slam tournament on grass since 1995. It is also the biggest tournament since the 1996 US Open.

The match ended on Court No. 3 after being tied 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday night.

The 29-year-old is a three-time Grand Slam doubles champion, winning two of those titles at Wimbledon.

The 103rd-ranked Sox will face fellow Australian Jason Kubler.

Frances Tiafoe reached the fourth round for the first time at Wimbledon, defeating Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan 3-6, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (3), 6-4.

The 23rd-ranked American is playing his fifth match at the All England Club.

Bublik hit 25 aces, but also had 13 double faults, including a match point.

Tiafoe will next face Hugo Humbert and David Goffin in the quarterfinals.

The 24-year-old Tjafo’s best Grand Slam performance was reaching the quarterfinals at the 2019 Australian Open.

Jelena Ostapenko advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon by winning 12 of her last 13 matches against Irina Camelia Beho.

The 2017 French Open champion from Latvia beat Peugeot 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 on court 3.

Ostapenko, the 12th seed, trailed 6-3 1-0 when she turned things around. She won nine games in a row to go 3-0 up in the deciding set before Peugeot was able to hold her serve again.

Ostapenko then had to save a break point in the next game before taking a 4-1 lead.

In 2018, Ostapenko reached the semi-finals at the All England Club, but last week she reached the final in the grass warm-up tournament in the English city of Eastbourne.

Novak Djokovic will return to center court on day five of Wimbledon, taking to the grass to face Miomir Kikmanovic after Anas Jaber attempted to return to the fourth round at the All England Club.

Djokovic is a six-time Wimbledon champion and has his fourth consecutive Grand Slam title on grass.

Jaber reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon last year. She will face Diana Berry in the opening match on Center Court. The final matchup scheduled for center field will be between No. 9 Cam Noor and Steve Johnson.

Former champion Angelique Kerber and debutant Carlos Alcaraz will play on the first court.
