NielsenIQ and GfK to merge | news

NUREMBERG/CHICAGO (dpa-AFX) – The consumer data and consumer research experts NielsenIQ (Chicago, USA) and GfK (Nuremberg) want to join forces. The companies announced this on Friday. The move will create a leading provider of retail and consumer data, the statement said.

The majority owner is to be the previous Nielsen owner, the financial investor Advent. The financial investor KKR and the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions (NIM) are to remain invested as additional shareholders. Subject to the approval of the regulatory authorities, the transaction is scheduled to take place at the beginning of next year.
