The function, which was in development for two months by the WhatsApp team, adds a new option to the reactions menu: a “+” button, which gives access to the full emoji keyboard. So, now, beta users who have access to the novelty will be able to react to messages received and/or sent with any ‘smile’, just tap on the “+” and select the desired emoji.

If you’re a beta user for Android or iPhone and haven’t identified the feature in your app yet, check for pending updates. As informed by WABetaInfo, this new menu should be released gradually to the entire testing public.
–
It is worth remembering that the feature may reach the stable version of WhatsApp with some modifications, as the criticism and/or praise from beta users may cause developers to change some aspects of the menu. So far, there is no official release date, but it is possible that the news will reach the app by the end of the year.
