The French Blood Establishment launches a vital appeal for donations

This is only the second time in history that this has happened, the first time was 6 months ago.

The French Blood Establishment has issued a new vital emergency bulletin.

The long holidays begin in a week, and this period is traditionally marked by significant transfusion needs. In addition, regular donors go on vacation and collections are less popular.

Stocks of blood bags are historically low, which “could prove dangerous in the short term to treat patients” alarms the EFS.

The Establishment calls for general mobilization for the next 15 days. It takes 10,000 donations a day to meet the needs.

In the Deux Savoie, several collections are planned for the next few days:

  • Friday July 1: in Cruseilles, Viry and La Bâthie
  • Monday July 4: in Sallanches and Aix-les-Bains
  • Tuesday July 5: in La Clusaz, Annemasse, Sciez
  • Wednesday July 6: in Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny and Les Allues
  • Thursday July 7: in Domancy, Neydens and La Motte-Servolex

Not to mention the two permanent branches of the EFS, in Epagny-Metz-Tessy and Chambéry.

All collections and practical information can be found on EFS website.
