The project that brings Cameron Díaz back to the cinema

After his unexpected retirement from cinethe actress American Cameron Diaz returns to acting in a new Netflix movie alongside Jamie Foxx.

The announcement was made through the actor’s social networks, where he published an audio in which Diaz and NFL star Tom Brady’s voice is heard at the same time.

“I was talking to Jamie and he said you needed some advice on how to pay off retirement. And I’m relatively successful at not retiring,” Brady is heard saying, announcing that he would retire from the NFL and two months later confirming that he will play another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The last time Diaz appeared on screen was in the film adaptation of “Annie,” which also starred Foxx; In addition to this project, the actors have participated in Oliver Stone’s film “Any Given Sunday”.

As will be remembered, Cameron first spoke about his retirement in 2018 and, in later interviews, he explained the reason for his decision.

“You are there for 12 hours a day. For months, you have no time for anything else. I realized that I gave parts of my life to all these other people, and they took them away,” she said in a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow that was posted online by Paltrow’s Goop.

Diaz’s long list of film credits includes There’s Something About Mary, The Mask, the animated Shrek franchise, and the Charlie’s Angels films.

Back in Action will be directed by Seth Gordon from a script he co-wrote with Brendan O’Brien (“Good Neighbors”). For his part, Foxx will executive produce the film with Datari Turner, O’Brien and Mark McNair.
