On Sunday, June 29, 1958, at the Rasunda Stadium in Stockholm, Brazil beat the local Sweden 5-2 in the 1958 World Cup final. It closed an exceptional campaign led by a young man of only 17 years called Edson Arantes do Nascimento, more known as Pele.
Two goals from the lush Pelé, two from Vavá and a goal from Mario Zagallo sealed Brazil’s great 5-2 victory over the Swedes.
