Slovak footballer Martin Koscelník transferred from Slovan Liberec to Rapid Vienna. He signed a three-year contract with the Austrian club.
The 27-year-old right defender has been working in Liberec for four seasons. “When I found out about the offer, the first feelings were fantastic. I know that other clubs were also dealt with, but when the manager Andrej Augustín told me that it was an official offer from Vienna’s Rapid, I was literally at the top. I said I was taking it. And then it happened very quickly.
The first impulse came on Thursday and everything was completed on Monday. I had medical and physical tests in Vienna on Tuesday, it was a difficult day and everything went well so I could sign the contract.
Rapid is a big club with a rich tradition, in addition, it is close to Slovakia, so I’m glad I signed up for the green and white, and I will try to help them get to the top of the league and in European competitions. And now I have to learn German, ” said the fourteen-time Slovak representative in a press release from his representative agency Sports Entertainment Group.
“Martin Koscelník has gained experience on the international scene, at the club level and in the national team. He is a strong and fast player. Now he is the missing piece of the puzzle in the position of the right defender, which we still lacked.” described the new acquisition by the sports director of the Vienna club Zoran Barišič.
