Conductor Guntis Kuzma has decided to start his journey together with the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra with the world premiere of Arthur Muscat’s Triple Concerto “Childhood Butterfly Dances”. On September 17 at 6 pm, together with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, three soloists will perform on the stage of the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” – organist Iveta Apkalna, flutist Dita Krenberga and pianist Reinis Zariņš. In addition to the opening of Arthur Muscat’s new work season, the concert will feature Juris Carlson’s opus “El Cid. Dances of Life and Death”, which premiered in 2008, and a suite by Gunt Kuzma from Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet “Romeo and Juliet”.
On October 14 at 7 pm, an 18-year-old violinist Daniil Bulajev and the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will meet on the stage of the concert hall “Big Amber”. Last time, Bulajev together with the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra played music in Liepaja in 2018. The conductor of Felix Mendelssohn, the overture of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Wedding of Figaro and Peter Tchaikovsky’s First Symphony will be performed under the direction of conductor Andris Veismanis.
On December 3, at 6 pm, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gunta Kuzma, will give a concert with pianist Andrejs Osokins at the Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars”. The concert program includes both Johannes Brahms’ First Piano Concerto and Antonín Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony.
