Los Angeles (USA), (EFE).- Los Angeles FC, leader of the MLS Western Conference, anticipates that the Welshman Gareth Bale, his latest signing, will debut with his new team on July 8 at the derby against the Los Angeles Galaxy, reported the club’s general manager, John Thorrington.
Bale, five-time European champion with Real Madrid, is the latest addition to a LAFC that announced on Monday the renewal of Carlos Vela’s contract and, a few weeks ago, the signing of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.
While waiting for the bureaucratic process with the United States immigration department to finish, LAFC plans for Bale to join the group at the beginning of July to have minutes against the Galaxy.
Thorrington considered that LAFC represented a “unique opportunity” for Bale, for what he needs for this new step in his career.
“The process was the following. Immediately after the game in which Wales qualified for the World Cup, we were in contact with Gareth’s agent. We talked about the opportunity here, unique in my opinion for Gareth”, he stated.
“And it was also important what Gareth needed in the next step of his career. It was a perfect combination for what he wants for the World Cup and for us, for what he can give us on the pitch”, he added.
