Wimbledon: Victory overshadowed by scandal. The favorite’s ugly behavior

Nick Kyrgios is one of the few favorites to triumph in this year’s Wimbledon edition. The Australian of Greek descent, however, had to struggle a lot to advance to the second round. In the first one he fought a five-set duel with Paul Jubb. The 22-year-old Briton was close to making a surprise, eventually Kyrgios won 3: 2 (3: 6, 6: 1, 7: 5, 6: 7 (3-7), 7: 5).

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament, its beginning dates back to 1877. The event played in England is famous for its elegance and high culture. These are of course characteristic features of this sport discipline, but at Wimbledon it is even more noticeable.

However, tradition and appropriate manners sometimes lose out to the temperament of the players. One of them is Kyrgios, who quite often gets into discussions with judges, this time it was similar. However, it is not about claims against the referees, but about behavior towards one of the fans.

After the match, at the press conference, the player was asked if he spat on the fans. The 27-year-old admitted saying he had made such a gesture towards one of the fans.

I spat at one of the people who disrespected me. Yes Yes. I would not do this to someone who supported me – he stated and added that he was insulted during the game. – Is it normal? Not. I don’t understand why this is happening all the time, said the tennis player ranked 40th in the ATP rankings.

Youtuber who plays sports or an athlete who has to fight stereotypes? Marcin Dubiel, influencer and freak fighter, tells Łukasz Kadziewicz when the fun ends and professionalism begins, be it in sports or online. “I’ve been working on the internet for seven years to build a brand, and people want to see that brand get in the $ ****,” he says. And although he lost consciousness twice during the last fight, he reveals that he likes to “be hit in the head”. He also does not avoid difficult questions. He admits his mistakes, lists past sins, talks about therapy and warns against … being an influencer.
