Farid Boulaya is officially no longer Garnet

There was little doubt, but the end of the adventure between FC Metz and Farid Boulaya was formalized on Tuesday by the club at the Croix de Lorraine.

In other words, the 29-year-old midfielder, at the end of his contract, will not sign a new lease with the Moselle club, relegated to Ligue 2.

Trained in Istres, passed by Clermont, CS Bastia and Girone (Spain), Farid Boulaya had joined the garnet house in January 2018 in the form of a loan before committing definitively five months later. In the Messin jersey, the native of Vitrolles played a whopping 132 matches (in all competitions), scored 18 goals and delivered 20 assists.

If his performance on the field has often been marked by the seal of inconstancy and his relations with the supporters sometimes conflicting, the Algerian international (8 selections) will nevertheless leave the image of a player with undeniable technical finesse and author of some nice goals, sometimes decisive.

Free of any contract, Farid Boulaya can now join the club of his choice.
