Porsche is launching a new special edition of the 911 GTS Cabriolet: it pays homage to the “America” series of yesteryear, which celebrate their 70th anniversary this year.

The German manufacturer perpetuates a tradition that began in 1952 with the Porsche 356 America Roadster: an open-top sports car intended for enthusiasts of the American way of life. This year, on the occasion of the Porsche Parade event held in Pennsylvania, the German manufacturer celebrates the 70th anniversary of the model with the launch of the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America.
The model emphasizes driving pleasure: in addition to its convertible silhouette, it is only offered in a seven-speed manual transmission, and only in rear-wheel drive.

Under the hood, the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America features a 3.0-liter flat-six engine with twin turbochargers. The whole develops a power of 480 horsepower for 570 Nm of torque.
As standard, there is the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) Sport system, which lowers the ride height by 10 mm, not to mention the sports exhaust and the Sport Chrono package. As an option, customers will also be able to tick the steering rear wheels, as well as Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America: a livery signed Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur
To emphasize the exclusivity of the model, we find on the outside a specific “Azure Blue 356” blue tint, inspired by that of the 1953 Porsche 356 America Roadster, and contrasting with two-tone white and gray rims. The set is completed by red edging, which can be found on the rims as well as the model’s signature on the lower part of the sides.
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America will be launched at the end of 2022, at prices to be announced later.
