Western Allies to hold quadripartite talks on Iran ‘s nuclear program / Article

Western Allies will hold quadripartite talks on Iran’s nuclear program

One of the issues to be addressed is Tehran’s oil exports. Iran has one of the largest oil reserves in the world, but its ability to sell crude oil has been limited by sanctions imposed by its nuclear program. With crude oil prices rising sharply following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, market analysts have speculated that Iranian oil could replace some of Russia’s next.

The quadripartite talks will take place on the sidelines of the G7 summit of the world’s largest industrialized powers, which will also discuss Iran’s nuclear ambitions. As a senior French official told reporters, the topics to be discussed are the “oil issue” and “readiness to stop arms proliferation”.

But, as the European Union’s top diplomat, Joseph Borrell, said during an unexpected visit to Tehran on Saturday, talks on reviving Iran’s nuclear deal will resume in the next few days.
