Last week, the men’s decisions in the age groups 65 and 70 were made in the senior Bundesliga. Both titles went to Vienna, to the Vienna Football Club. In the 65 age group, the Viennese lived up to their role as favorites and were already 4:1 ahead of the GAK in Graz after the singles games, so the doubles were no longer played. In the men’s 70s, the Vienna Football Club had a home advantage and won convincingly against the team from LUV Graz. Here, too, the final was decided 4:1 after the singles.
In the women’s 55, the final developed into a true crime thriller in high summer temperatures in Klagenfurt. After winning two singles, the doubles had to decide: both games were narrowly won by the Pörtschacher women, the last doubles even in a tie-break match. Thus, the women’s 55 title went to ASVÖ Pörtschach for the first time in the club’s history, second place went to Sportunion Klagenfurt.
