Contemporary dance performance “Between us”

The fragility and power of the movements is the language of the soul of Liene Tunne and Katie Varkale, who in the show, as an invisible thread, will connect the dancers ‘experience in the dance with the spectators’ experiences in the hearts. The dancers will show what is not expressed in words, which seems to be understood only by everyone, but in fact feels so well known among all of us. The endless struggle to fit. The norms accepted in the society, psychological violence or mobbing, as well as the individual’s fear of being incomprehensible affect our essence and create obstacles to personal growth. We need to constantly think about how appropriate we are in society, what masks we need to wear. Is it bad to be different and what keeps us from what we really want? Maybe it’s safer to pretend….

“The show promises not only to enchant the audience with impressive dance performances, but also the opportunity to delve deeper into the current topic – how to pretend that you are not to fit into the frames created by society. The content of the performance highlights the unacceptable story from various aspects – not only to coexist, but also to find a solution from the point of view of both society and the prism of the individual. The main task of the show is to inspire the viewer to see how many opportunities we have all around us, we just have to be able to believe and dare, ”says producer Estere Ozoliņa.
