The fact that cyclists have too much alcohol in their blood to be allowed to drive on the road is usually only noticed when the cyclist becomes conspicuous. As in this case in Lauenburg.

Lauenburg.Because he fell with his two-wheeler, a cyclist noticed a cyclist on Hamburger Straße in Lauenburg last Friday (June 24) from other road users. As it turned out, he was heavily intoxicated.

At around 1:05 a.m., the 37-year-old Geesthacht was already noticed by a resident on Berliner Strasse, who then informed the Lauenburg officials. When the patrol car crew encountered the cyclist on Hamburger Strasse, he drove in clear, wavy lines, lost his balance and fell. Luckily he didn’t hurt himself.
A voluntary breath alcohol test resulted in a provisional value of 3.00 per thousand. A blood sample was ordered. The 37-year-old cyclist will have to answer on suspicion of drunk driving.
