Uninstall iOS 16 beta 2: How to reinstall iOS 15
The quickest and easiest way to go back to iOS 15 and remove the iOS 16 beta update is to wipe and restore your device. However, by doing so, you will not be able to restore the backups created while using the beta software may not be compatible with earlier versions of iOS.
Apple will give you the option to restore your iOS 15 backup data (If there is a backup) or set it up as a new iPhone.
There are several steps to follow:
· Make sure your Mac has the latest macOS updates installed before you begin the process of uninstalling the iOS 16 beta.
· Connect your Iphone to your Mac or PC and put it in recovery mode. For iPhone 8 or later, quickly press and release the volume up button and then the volume down button. Then, press and hold the power button until you see the recovery mode screen.
· Click the “Restore” option when it appears on your Mac. This will wipe your device data and install the latest non-beta iOS update, which is currently iOS 15.5. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your iPhone exits the recovery mode screen, allow the download to complete, then repeat the previous steps.
· Next, type install when you see a prompt to install the latest iOS 15 update on your iPhone. You can then restore the backup of iOS 15 taken on your Mac/PC or iCloud.
You can also remove the public beta by deleting the beta profile. To do so, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > iOS 16 Beta Profile > Remove Profile and restart your device. Note that this method will not downgrade your iPhone to iOS 15. You will have to wait until the next non-beta version of iOS is available for download. If an update is already available, you can install it by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
