Critical name change move from Apple for new iPhones

Apple introduced new operating system versions, M2 processor and devices using this chip at the WWDC22 event held in the first week of this month. Now, it is preparing for the launch it will organize for its new smartphones in September.

According to the leaks, surprising name changes are waiting for the iPhone 14 models.

AMAZING NAME CHANGE ON IPHONE 14 MODELS

According to the news of ShiftDelete; Apple will present its users with 4 new models this year. But unlike the previous years, it is certain that a large-size version will come instead of the mini (we can see it as the new SE on March 2023).

The name was expected to be iPhone 14 Max. Because although it is the same as the Pro Max in size, it will be similar to the 14 on the processor, camera and screen side.

‘PLUS’ CLAIM IS COMING BACK

But according to the latest news, Apple wants the Max nomenclature to be specific to Pro models. For this reason, it will bring back the Plus name, which we encountered in the last 8th generation. Therefore, the naming of the new series is iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, respectively.

On the design side, Pro models will stand out this year. Because now, instead of the iconic notch on the front, there will be a hole for the camera and a second pill-shaped hole for Face ID. The handset will be placed on the upper part between the screen and the case.

SMALL ‘NOTCH’

The iPhone 14 and Plus model, on the other hand, will come with the notch of the iPhone 13, which was introduced last year, which has been reduced by 30 percent compared to its predecessor. In addition, the screens used will be different. First of all, the screen bezels will be considerably thinner.

In addition, due to the problems in the supply chain from Apple’s chip crisis, it is said that 120 Hz refresh rate can be seen only for Pros this year, as in the iPhone 13 and Pro models. So 14 and Plus may come with 60 Hz.

WHAT ABOUT CAMERA?

On the processor side, things are a bit complicated. Looking at the overall leaks, it seems that Apple will again keep the Pro models separate from the rest of the series. Allegedly, the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models will use the A16 Bionic processor, while the 14 and 14 Plus will use the A15 Bionic processor used in the iPhone 13 series. However, with the improvements made for a period, it is possible to encounter a new chip called A15X Bionic by switching to the X series used in tablets.

On the camera side, Apple enlarged both lenses and sensors last year. This year, instead of the 12 Megapixel array, 48 Megapixel cameras, whose design and registration studies have been revealed a while ago, are expected.
