Latvian Center for Environment, Geology and Meteorology has announced an orange warning of very strong heat throughout Latvia – on Sunday and in the coming days the air temperature will rise to +30 .. + 32 degrees.

If the heat is expected to increase to +33 degrees next week, weather forecasters will replace the orange warning with a red one.

There will be a small amount of clouds on Sunday, in the evening there may be a short-term rain and thunderstorm.

A slow east and south wind will blow, on the coast the wind will come from the sea. The air will heat up to +29 .. + 32 degrees, slightly lower temperatures will remain in places on the coast.

In Riga on Sunday there will be dry and mostly sunny weather, a slow south, southeast wind will rise and the air temperature will rise to +31 degrees.

The weather is determined by the anticyclone. Atmospheric pressure 1019-1022 hectopascals at sea level.

Prolonged exposure to the sun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. is not recommended due to intense ultraviolet radiation and heat.

The water temperature in the largest rivers and lakes is mostly +17 .. + 23 degrees, in the sea +15 .. + 18 degrees, according to the data of the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.
