Jennifer Aniston virtually honored her fatherJohn Aniston, for the 49th Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night.
John, 88, received the Lifetime Achievement Award during this year’s ceremony for his 37-year performance of Victor Kiriakis on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Suzanne Rogers, co-star of John’s Days of Our Lives, handed over the award before that a video of Jennifer Aniston was being projected on the screen during the ceremony. In her clip, the actress praised the illustrious career of her father.
“This is a really special time for me,” said Jennifer, 53. “It is an opportunity not only for pay homage to a true icon in the television worldbut it is also an opportunity to recognize the lifelong achievements of a great and respected actor, who is also my father ”.
“John has worked on television steadily for over half a century,” continued Jennifer Aniston, before listing her father’s long list of television holdings.
The actress said that his father worked on a lot of projects “Appeared simultaneously in every conceivable soap opera. You take one at random… I’m sure there has been ”.
“For over 30 years, his dedication to TV and entertainment has earned respect and admiration from his fellow actors, deep friendships and thrilled millions of fans around the world, ”he concluded. “His career is literally the definition of a career.”
Although John Aniston wasn’t able to be there in person, he received huge cheers from the crowd for his iconic career.

Jennifer Aniston won an Emmy Award in 2002 during her 10-year career playing Rachel Green on the NBC television sitcom Must-See.
The Anistons’ onstage show of admiration was the sweetest moment for father and daughter whose relationship was at times tumultuous.
Back in 2019, Jennifer had paid tribute to her father with a sepia-toned photo of herself as a child snuggling up on him and wrapping her arms around his neck.
