Despite Manchester United and Barcelona having reached an agreement for the transfer of Dutch star Frenkie De Jong, in an operation worth around 80 million euros (€60m immediately plus €20m for objectives), as reported last Friday by the sports daily Catalan Sportthe Spanish radio Being Chain announced this Saturday that the Netherlands international midfielder remains reluctant to move to Old Trafford.
O Sport had mentioned that, in order to complete the transfer, Manchester United still needed to reach an agreement with the midfielder, but according to the Being ChainFrenkie De Jong’s intention is to remain in the Barcelona squad.
Even so, the Catalan periodical assures, in its edition of this Saturday, that the red devils have a five-year contract ready to offer to Frenkie De Jong and that negotiations, aimed at securing the wish of coach Erik Ten Hag, who worked with the midfielder at Ajax, started in an optimistic and positive way.
