6 New Facts of Flood and Landslide Horror in Bogor Regency

Disaster Flash floods and landslide hit a number of areas in Pamijahan and Leuwiliang sub-districts, Bogor. Residents felt various losses, starting from the damage to buildings and public facilities, drifting livestock, to claiming lives.

The disaster took place on Wednesday (22/6/2022) around 18.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB at night. The disaster was caused by high intensity of rain, as well as overflowing river water around the location.

Until now, a number of public facilities are still damaged. Thousands of people were affected by the disaster. Here are 6 latest facts about floods and landslides that occurred in Bogor Regency:

1. Taking 3 Casualties

The disaster claimed three lives as a result of being hit by a landslide. Two people named Aam (40) and Umar (42) came from Muara Village, Cibunian Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency. And Yadi Jayadi from Purasari Village, Leuwiliang District, Bogor Regency.

Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) Fazzli said Yadi Jayadi (27) was found within a radius of 20 km. The victim was then taken to the funeral home.

“We found the victim in a 20 km radius, then the victim was evacuated to the funeral home,” explained Fazzli, Friday (6/24).

Aam (40) was found near the landslide site at his house. He was found dead.

“One person who died was found at the landslide site in the name of Mrs. Aam, aged 40,” said the Head of Emergency and Logistics for BPBD Bogor Regency, Aris Nurjatmiko when asked for confirmation.

Most recently, Umar (42) was also found at the landslide site. He was found dead by residents.

“Earlier, the victim’s position was on his back and part of the soil and aid were still buried. Then we explained it slowly. Alhamdulillah, now it has been lifted,” said Head of the Jakarta Basarnas Headquarters and Alert, Agung Priambodo to reporters in Cibunian Village, Saturday (25/6).
