Between June 14 and 20, 3,049 new Sars-CoV-2 contaminations were detected on average per day, up 25% compared to the previous week, according to figures from the Sciensano Public Health Institute this Friday. .
The health ministers of our six governments met again this morning to take stock of the epidemic and consider measures.
Strong increases
First observation made by this Inter-Ministerial Conference (CIM) on Health: lhe current rise in infections leads to higher hospital admissions as hospital capacity is lower during summer holidays.
This is reflected in a further increase in hospital admissions, by more than 43% in the past two weeks.
Reminder to measures
The third is necessary, recall the ministers of the CIM Health. As of June 21, 76% of people over the age of 12 had received their third dose of the vaccine. Others are asked to do the same for a “serene holiday”.
Another reminder:eople with weak immunity were invited for their fourth dose earlier this year. Nearly 65% of them had received this reminder.
Those who have not yet received their fourth dose run an additional risk of developing Covid-19, notes CIM Santé, and must therefore ensure that they receive it as soon as possible. A reminder letter will be sent to them, it was decided.
