Many candidates in the three constituencies of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) for the legislative elections, on Sundays June 12 and 19, 2022, declared themselves on the evening of the second round of the presidential election, or even before.
Candidates on the left now known
The “New popular ecological and social union” (Nupes) sealed after the agreement of the left parties, the candidates are now known in the three constituencies of Nice, one of which is promised to the ecologists and the other two to LFI. Actu Nice unveiled them exclusively.
All had until Friday, May 20 to submit their application.
Here is the list of officially declared candidates, invested by their party or not, in the 1st (the city center of Nice), the 3rd (Nice, Falicon, La Trinité, Saint-André-La-Roche) and the 5th ( Nice to the north of the department).

In the 3: Cédric Roussel out, Philippe Pradal in
Cédric Roussel, the outgoing deputy (LREM) ultimately did not have the nomination of the presidential majority. First declared candidate (since January 2022), he found himself facing Philippe Pradal, yet in the same political camp.
When the Nice deputy’s candidacy was announced, Cédric Roussel issued a vindictive press release and even called on his competitor to withdraw his candidacy. But since the parties around Emmanuel Macron have trusted Philippe Pradal, Cédric Roussel has multiplied the appearances on the ground. He finally threw in the towel and withdrew his candidacy on Thursday, May 19.
First rally step on the right…
On the far right side, Philippe Vardon did not receive the nomination of the National Rally either, but nevertheless remains in the 3rd constituency, in which he had arrived in the second round, in 2017.
A time candidate, Hermine Falicon (Reconquest) withdrew and became the substitute tenor of the far right in Nice. Eric Zemmour’s party announces its support in a press release.
… but it remains fragmented, like the left
However, he will have to face Benoît Kandel, who received the RN nomination from the top of the party. The two men are known to have a certain resentment towards each other. Saturday May 21, Philippe Vardon even announced that he would file a complaint against Benoit Kandel, who released his personal address.
Despite his desire to rally the right behind him, Philippe Vardon must also face the candidate powered by Eric Ciotti, who gave his consent to Laurent Castillo.
On the left, Dominique Boy-Mottard, president of PRG 06, has just announced her candidacy reported in Nice morning. She already presents herself as a dissident at NUPES, which has invested Enzo Giusti.
The candidates in the 5th constituency
- Thibault Delhez
- Cédric Vella, Reconquest
- Nathalie Soisson, Party of Animals
- Marine Brenier-Ohanessian (ex-LR outgoing deputy), Together (Horizons)
- Frank Khalifa, RN
- Christelle d’Intorni, LR
- Agnès Benkemoun
- Philippe Benassaya, NUPES (EELV)
- Geraldine Maiye
- Jean-Claude Wahid Spach
In the 5: Marine Brenier, from LR to Estrosi
Marine Brenier, who supported Valérie Pécresse until the evening of the first round of the presidential election, finally took Christian Estrosi’s outstretched hand and joined the presidential majority. Eric Ciotti had frozen the LR nominations in the Alpes-Maritimes because of his proximity to the mayor of Nice.
This post-presidential rally is not at all to the taste of Jérôme Basti, member of LREM since 2016, who announced that he would also embark on the race before retiring three days later. Unlike Eric Ciotti, who immediately invested Christelle d’Intorni in his place.
As for the National Rally, Thierry Ferrand finally threw in the towel, as revealed Nice-Presse. Frank Khalifa, a Toulouse professor, will wear the RN label.
