Graz – The Graz legal scholar Peter Riedler is the new Rector of the University of Graz. He succeeds Martin Polaschek, who has headed the Ministry of Education since December. Since Polaschek switched to politics, Riedler has been interim head of the university, of which he has been vice rector since 2011. As Rector, one of his aims is to increase research excellence and make studies more attractive. The new term of office begins on October 1 and lasts four years.
