Ukraine needs huge financial assistance to rebuild the country ravaged by the Russian invasion, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Wednesday, stressing that a new Marshall Plan will be needed.
Speaking at the Bundestag, Scholz said he had invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to attend the G7 summit this month to “agree on what such a” Marshall Plan “for Ukraine might look like, citing the US support plan for post-war reconstruction in Western Europe as an example.
