A woman is miraculously alive thanks to two police officers who helped her after she fell onto the subway tracks at a Brooklyn station minutes before the train was due to arrive.
The 25-year-old woman suffered a medical episode on Monday at around 8:30 am that caused her to fall on the train tracks, but the uniformed officers acted quickly.
The body camera of one of the officers shows the heroic action that occurred at the 95th Street station in the Bay Bridge sector on an R line platform.
In the video shared by the New York City Police Department on Wednesday the woman is seen walking on the platform and falling from one moment to another on the train tracks.
At that moment, the uniformed men run to help her, one of them jumps onto the rails, while the woman seems confused. The other policeman takes her from her arms and helps her up to the platform minutes before a train arrives at the station.
The woman was taken to a hospital in stable condition after the incident.
The two officers who helped her, Muhammed Ghani and Rochelle Paulburton, were carrying out their daily inspection on the subway at the time. None was injured. Both have been with the New York City Police for at least five years.
