Graz, June 22nd, 2022 (KAP) The fountain courtyard of the Graz parish church is currently offering a sound installation that is intended to offer an oasis of relaxation in the summer as “green power” in the third summer of the pandemic. The sound artists “Lino Leum” and Antonia Manhartsberger with curator Gertraud Schaller-Pressler invite you to linger at the “sound oasis after Hildegard von Bingen” entitled “green tones” until August 15th, reports the diocese of Graz-Seckau on its website. The installation is open daily with free access (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
“There is a power from eternity and this power is green. Heaven and earth and all the beauty of the world were created from bright green,” says a quote attributed to St. Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), to which the artists refer . Bird calls, songs by Hildegard von Bingen in the archway and in the church invite you to relax and make the communication between man and nature the subject. According to the declared goal, visitors should then perceive their surroundings more intensively and direct their gaze upwards.
The fountain courtyard of the parish church, which also has a modern drinking fountain, was replanted and equipped with seating, and the old draw well from the Middle Ages was reactivated. As a water-giving oasis and a popular space for rest and refreshment, it is intended to surprise and inspire passers-by with this sound installation in summer. For those who are interested, there is also “Thoughts of Hildegard to take away” and a separate display of the Moser bookstore with selected literature on the medieval medicine doctor, poet, composer and church teacher.
