Chartres, its cathedral, its organs… The reputation of the city is well established, since, for forty-eight years, every year, instrumentalists from all over the world converge on this prestigious monument to make the public discover their talent and the diversity of their repertoire.
The organ festival returns to Chartres Cathedral
The concept of the new edition of the festival remains unchanged. Every Sunday in summer, a recognized musician is invited to play there, free of charge, in front of an audience of connoisseurs.
This year, the kick-off will be given on July 10, with the arrival of instrumentalist Adam Tanski.

The following Sunday, July 17, the Briton William Fielding, who works at the basilica in Toulouse, will make himself known. This young hope is only 21 years old and will continue his studies at the Paris Conservatory in September.
47th International Organ Festival in Chartres: a balance sheet without false note despite the restrictions
On the 24th, a regular at the event, the American Lynn Davis, will return to the cathedral. Another expected event: the concert of the titular organist of the cathedral, the faithful Patrick Delabre, who plays “at home”. It will be on the penultimate evening, August 14.
The following Sunday, August 21, it will already be the end, with Baptiste-Florian Marle-Ouvrard. He is not unknown to festival regulars, since in 2012 he won the Grand Prix d’improvisation de Chartres. It also won the audience award. An audience that he will find again during this closing show.
Practice. Every Sunday, from July 10 to August 21 at 4:30 p.m. at Chartres Cathedral. FREE ENTRANCE. 02.37.36.67.48.
