Xiaomi is apparently already working on two other high-end phones in addition to the 12 Ultra, which should finally be announced next month. We are talking about the 12S and 12S Pro, the first of which has already appeared on Geekbench and even in a handy image.
This image revealed the Leica branding for the camera, and today a new rumor sheds light on more details. Information from a generally reliable leaker indicates that the 12S will launch with three RAM/storage combinations: 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/512GB. The 12S will be powered by the recently unveiled Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Qualcomm.
The 12S Pro will reportedly come in two versions: one with the same chipset as the 12S, and the other with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. The former gets the same RAM/storage variants as the 12S, while the latter will only come in two options: 8/256 GB and 12/512 GB. Finally, the Snapdragon iteration of the 12S Pro comes with 120W fast charging, just like the 12. Pro.
It’s unclear how much the 12S and 12S Pro will be upgraded from the non-S models, so far they appear to be minor iterations created to capitalize on the Leica partnership hype and not much else. But let’s withhold judgment until we see more complete leaks.
