Telegram Has Rp. 74 thousand Premium Features, What Can You Get?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – After being introduced earlier this month, Telegram officially launched its paid service called “Telegram Premium”.

This paid service gives users access to additional features by paying a fee of US$ 4.99 (around Rp. 74 thousand) per month.

According to the features outlined in a post on the Telegram blog, with this premium service users can download files much faster and the maximum file upload size is larger at 4GB, compared to the standard version which is only 2GB. Premium subscribers will also get double the limit imposed on standard users.

Some of the other perks in Telegram Premium, including access to a collection of Premium stickers with more vibrant full-screen animations, exclusive emoji reactions, and animated profile pictures.

By subscribing to Telegram Premium, users can enjoy a new feature that makes it possible to convert voice messages into text messages. This transcript feature is very useful when the user receives a voice message, but does not bring earphones to listen to it

Premium subscription features will also be free of ads. On paid subscriptions, there are no more advertisements on public channels, as quoted from The Verge, Monday (20/6/2022).

Instead of joining up to 500 channels, subscribers are only limited to 1,000 channels. The same goes for other features in Telegram, customers can create 20 chat folders with 200 chats each, store up to 10 stickers, pin up to 10 chats, and add a total of four accounts to Telegram.

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov stated that free features will remain free and premium features will not affect the Telegram experience for non-subscribers.

Durov also promised that Telegram would also not stop developing features for free users, which the platform seems to be following so far. The latest Telegram update features verified badges in chats, not just in profiles, search results or chat lists.

It also gives public groups the ability to enable join requests, and adds some platform-specific improvements.

Nonetheless, Telegram Premium comes packed with many features, many of which will probably appeal to the most active Telegram users who now number 700 million users.
