The 2022 President’s Cup continued match between Persib Bandung and Persebaya Surabaya at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) claimed lives. In that match, there were two people who died, one of them was Ahmad Solihin (29), who wanted to watch in the stadium.
Reported from detikJabar, Ahmad Solihin with his relative, Raihan (25), went together to GBLA Stadium. When the deadly tragedy occurred, Raihan and Ahmad Solihin were separated at door V of GBLA Stadium. Raihan also said there had been a commotion. The deceased was trampled on.
After being separated from Ahmad Solihin, Raihan uploaded the news about Ahmad Solihin’s disappearance on his Twitter account at midnight yesterday. A few hours after uploading information about Ahmad’s disappearance, Raihan re-uploaded the latest news. Ahmad Solihin was found dead.
Raihan said that at around 19.00 WIB, the entrance to the GBLA Stadium was closed. At that time, Raihan and Ahmad Solihin were already in the middle of the crowd to go to the ticket gate.
“From behind I pushed forward, I was in the middle. Well, I am with the deceased. I am in front, the deceased is behind him. So the one in front falls, I automatically fall,” said Raihan to the media crew at the funeral home in Cibaduyut Wetan, District Bojongloa Kidul, Bandung City, Saturday (18/6/2022).
The riots that occurred caused the guardrail to the ticket gate to collapse. Raihan and Ahmad Solihin were crushed by a falling fence.
