Sergio Checo Pérez is having one of the best seasons of his career in Formula One and recently in an interview he compared himself to football stars and also his rival and teammate, Max Verstappen.

The Mexican about his partner, who is the current leader of the season, explained that he is like Lionel Messi, while he compared himself to Cristiano Ronaldo for his dedication and effort.

“Messi is Verstappen. A very natural driver, with a lot of talent and he is the Messi of cars. I am like Christiantalented too, but more worked and dedicated to getting the performance out of himself”.

The Mexican, who won the Monaco Grand Prix, was also compared to French striker Karim Benzema. about how it has improved in recent years.

“With Benzema too (I could compare myself), that every year he improves and that is what has happened to me in my career, that every year I am better. Benzema is getting better and better at Real Madrid”.

The Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), second in the Formula One World Championship -21 points behind his teammate, the Dutchman Max Verstappen, showed his optimism with a view to the Canadian Grand Prixwhich takes place this weekend in Montreal, stating that they will face it “at a sensational moment for the team”, which leads both championships.
