The obligation to vaccinate in medical and nursing facilities puts a strain on the Offenburg health department. “Extremely time-consuming, extremely cumbersome,” says its manager Evelyn Bressau.
The corona virus does not take a summer break, and Health Minister Karl Lauterbach advises wearing masks in view of the current summer wave to protect yourself and others. But for the first time in months there is not a single corona patient in the hospital’s intensive care unit. Meanwhile, the once hotly debated vaccination requirement for employees in nursing homes, clinics and similar facilities has caused a lot of paperwork for the local health department. 1,700 letters have been sent in the past few days.
The county is dragging a mortgage into the summer break…
