They invite you to learn about the different techniques and select the type of treatment since it is individualized.
TijuanaBC June 17, 2022.- In vitro fertilization is one of the assisted reproduction techniques that consists of hyperstimulating the ovaries in a controlled way with exogenous hormones in order to have a greater number of mature and dominant oocytes to later extract them, put them in contact with the sperm. and depending on the amount that they have fertilized, see their development and finally be transferred to the mother’s uterus, as explained by Dr. Lorena Oseguera Palao, Reproductive Biologist at the Prado Fertility Center.
The specialist shared details about the profiles of the best candidates to undergo this treatment, in search of achieving a pregnancy.
“The candidates for in vitro fertilization are those who have had insemination failures, which in general we talk about 3 or 4, although there are certain cases that even with a smaller number of failures, it is possible to go on to in vitro fertilization, as would be the age factor, when we already have an advanced age we can no longer give ourselves so much time to deal with inseminations.
It would also be the severe male factor, we are talking about a greatly reduced number of mobile sperm, another cause is patients with tubal factor and finally patients with endometriosis,” he commented.
Oseguera Palao added that the probability of success with this treatment varies depending on the characteristics of the patient, remaining around 50%.
“Generally we manage between 40 and 50% as more attempts our probability can improve, the main thing is that you go and see what your type of treatment is since this is individualized, not all are candidates for in vitro fertilization and not all are insemination candidates.
