“When creating my works, I always try to find something interesting, different – I call it ‘sweet food’, which cannot be given up. The more such works in the works, the better! when everything is already known and the unknown and full of surprises are left in. At this stage, the work acquires its gloss and uniqueness – why it was worth creating at all. These are the nuances that make you want to say “Mmmm” and create a sweet pleasant taste. Then I want to stay at work for as long as possible and understand the essence of the work, “invites the artist Roberts Bāliņš to visit the solo exhibition.
Gļebs Panteļejevs, a professor at the Latvian Academy of Arts and head of the Department of Sculpture, describes Robert as a sculptor who is talented in the physical form of his story: “In Robert’s anthropocentric art Roberts is a great narrator, and he manages to keep up with the urge to tell everything, now and immediately. “
