– I have 3.1 million shares and have not sold a single share since I started there in 2009. It is natural to look at the finances of Argentos as, the company that owns the shares Scatec. The company has a loan that I want to reduce, says Raymond Carlsen, former top manager of the solar energy company Scatec, to DN.
Earlier this week, Carlsen’s company, Argentos, sold off 15 percent of its shareholding in Scatec, or half a million shares. The sale price per share was NOK 79.5, which means that Carlsen has collected just under NOK 40 million.
However, the sale was carried out at a price that amounts to less than a quarter of the company’s top listing of NOK 378.78 per share last year.
Do not believe in further falls
– This is only a financial disposition. It has nothing to do with my belief in the future at Scatec, it is as solid as before, says Carlsen.
– So it’s not to free up money for other projects?
–
– Not really. There is enough capital in the company now to look at other projects, but it will only be peanuts compared to my future involvement in Scatec. In other projects, there is talk of smaller investments. The money in Scatec, they are in good shape.
– So you do not think the stock will go down further?
– No. I do not believe. I do not control the world economy, but the stock has fallen very far in recent months, far too far down.
Since the company’s peak in January 2021, the Scatec share has gradually fallen. On Thursday, the share ended at NOK 81.84 and fell by a further 2.94 percent. In the last year, the share has fallen 63.74 percent.
Carlsen announced his resignation as top manager of Scatec on March 28, after 13 years in the solar energy company. Terje Pilskog, who was then head of project development, took over the role of top manager. The change of leadership took place on 1 May.
According to the annual accounts for Argentos in 2020, the company had a debt of NOK 116 million. Earned equity in the company was NOK 966.7 million.
