The publication writes that while on a visit to Kyiv, Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron and Mario Draghi advocated granting Ukraine the status of an EU candidate.
“In exchange, the heads of state and government ‘behind closed doors’ most likely persuaded Zelensky to sit down at the negotiating table with Russian President Vladimir Putin,” the article says.
