TRIBUNNEWS.COM, NEW YORK – Apple will further advance its device display technology by installing an OLED panel in MacBook Air and iPad Pro starting 2024.
Apple analyst Ross Young said the OLED MacBook is expected to be the MacBook Air, but that could change as 2024 approaches.
It seems increasingly likely that Apple will launch a 13.3-inch OLED notebook in 2024 in addition to the 11-inch OLED and iPad Pro 12,9 inci.
Young added, OLED iPad Pro and MacBook Air will use a display technology known as a “tandem stack,” which will increase brightness, increase display longevity, and reduce power consumption by approximately 30 percent.
The OLED display used by Apple also has a variable refresh rate to further increase efficiency.

Reporting from 9to5mac.com, Friday (17/6/2022) The mini-LED technology currently used by Apple is an alternative to OLED. The Mini-LED display is made up of thousands of tiny LEDs arranged in multiple dimming zones.

Mini-LED screens can achieve higher brightness than OLED screens, but the dimming is still not as accurate as OLED screens. OLED screens also experience “burn-in”.
Looking further into the future, Apple seems to be investing heavily in micro-LED technology. Micro-LED displays are largely the same as OLED, but with increased brightness and no burn-in.
