Rocky Gerung said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) genius for getting PAN into the cabinet on reshuffle. Rocky also brought up the name Anies Baswedan.
As is known, on Wednesday (15/6) yesterday, Jokowi officially inaugurated two new ministers and three deputy ministers for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. They are PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan who was appointed as Minister of Trade and former TNI Commander Hadi Tjahjanto as Minister of ATR/BPN.
Then Jokowi also appointed the PSI Board of Trustees Raja Juli Antoni as Deputy Minister of ATR / BPN, John Wempi Wetipo as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and UN Secretary General Afriansyah Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower.
Rocky assessed that the entry of PAN into Jokowi’s cabinet had an impact on Anies Baswedan’s support in the 2024 presidential election.

Initially the discussion discussed the matter of having lunch with President Jokowi with the general chairmen of the government coalition party which was not attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
Rocky assessed that Ma’ruf’s absence from the lunch before the inauguration of Jokowi’s new minister was normal. Rocky then alludes to the presidential system.
“What is the importance of the vice president? From the start, it was not important. So if the vice president was present, people would ask ‘why did he come here?’ but actually we have to respect that indeed this is all Pak Jokowi’s design. If you enter the trade-in with the vice president, you can’t do that,” said Rocky Gerung.
Rocky said the cabinet represented the president’s vision. According to him, if Ma’ruf was at that lunch, then something was unusual.
“Still, we have to consider a presidential system, the president of the cabinet represents the president’s vision, there is no other vision. If there is a vice president, people will say trade-offs, later the vice president doesn’t know where he is sitting, sitting on the left or right,” he explained.
At the inauguration of Jokowi’s new minister, Rocky linked him with the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK). Rocky said that during Jokowi’s cabinet reshuffle this time, JK was ‘eliminated’ from the cabinet, why?
“Actually, Mr. JK who was eliminated from the cabinet, there was a minister who was replaced who we know is close to Mr. Jusuf Kalla, who we know is the Minister of ATR,” he explained.
