The City ofAnglet decided to take preventative measures following the recommendations of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques prefecture. Indeed, the department is placed by Météo France in orange vigilance in the heat wave.
Temporary closure of the Pignada
Due to a risk of fire accentuated by the high heat, a municipal decree prohibits access to the Pignada during the 2 days of Friday 17 and Saturday 18 June 2022.
The city states that “The municipal police will carry out frequent checks and issue fines for offenders. The firefighters have decided to put in place increased surveillance of the massif, as well as the Lazaret.
Cancellation or postponement of certain events
All festive and sporting events, scheduled for Friday June 17 and Saturday June 18, between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., indoors and outdoors, are canceled or postponed.
Girouette en fête is therefore postponed. The inauguration of the Petite Littorale, initially scheduled for Saturday afternoon, is brought forward to the morning, at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony of June 18, Saturday at 11 a.m., at the war memorial, is maintained.
Green number
All municipal services are mobilized during this heatwave episode. To answer residents’ questions, a toll-free number has been set up.
