Dimitris Priftis new coach has been chosen Tofas Bursa for the next three seasons. The 53-year-old Greek coach last served as Panathinaikos coach and will now have his first experience in Turkey.
Priftis began his coaching career in Greece as an assistant in women’s basketball, before moving to men’s with AEK in 2003, where he stayed until 2009.
Since then, he has been an assistant at Aris Thessaloniki and Panathinaikos, before taking on head coaching duties in recent years. In 2017, he signed for UNICS Kazan, which he qualified for the EuroLeague.
Priftis has also been an assistant coach for the Greek national team for two spells, 2008-2012 and 2014-2016.
