“In all my years in television, I have not once been pinched by an executive,” Lauren begins. “Of course: there are plenty of flirtatious co-hosts and cameramen. And I will be the drunken sound guy who out of the blue started licking my neck or forgetting the producer who put his foot in my hotel room door and asked if I wanted a ‘hot bath’ – but that’s something else.”
–
Why is that different according to the presenter? “If the balance of power is equal, you can and dare much faster to say something like: ‘Buck off dude, drunken beetles’. My experience is that it is immediately ready.”
–
Although she has fortunately not experienced it that way herself, Lauren emphasizes that it is ‘good that those abuses come to light’. “Things have to change when it comes to the balance of power between men and women, but because I’m not an expert in that field, I don’t feel called to throw anything about the world via social media. I think it is anyway. quite strange that everyone has an opinion about everything and I am really shocked by the tone in the so-called debates that follow.”
