Lorca
The IU municipal group in Lorca has considered this Thursday “unacceptable” the delay in the construction of the new roundabout that should regulate traffic in the San Antonio neighborhood after the construction of the subway that the Community inaugurated in November 2021 to connect the exit of the A-7 with the RM-11.
The IU spokesman, Pedro Sosa, accompanied by residents of the neighborhoods of San Antonio, La Viña and the neighborhood of Bertrand, has denounced the “chaotic situation” of the area in which the ornamental fountain demolished to build the tunnel, complete the roundabout and regulate traffic.
Sosa has said that this entrance through the southern part of the city has been converted into “a mass of cement, twisted iron, potholes, pipes, cables and fences” for months and has stated that there is “great road insecurity” due to the operation of roundabouts. provisional.
The neighbors have said that they are fed up and that they do not rule out demonstrations.
The mayor has recalled that the underground works concluded seven months ago and that since then no progress has been made in the conclusion of the rest of the auxiliary works that his party relates to “litigations of the contractor companies to see who runs with some alleged cost overruns in tunnel execution.
He has also accused the regional government of “ineffectiveness” as the drafting administration of the project and the first executor of the works and the city council, to which “the material execution has been ceded” without any progress having been made.
Sosa has wondered if this delay is “deliberate” to bring its completion and inauguration closer to the electoral horizon of 2023, in which there will be municipal and regional elections.
