Judge attacked by defendant in courtroom in Trøndelag District Court – NRK Trøndelag

The trial against the accused man in his 40s had barely started in Trøndelag District Court when the incident occurred.

– The prosecutor quickly gained control of the accused. Then they called security people at the courthouse. Then a police patrol was also called which drove away and took the accused to the rest of the police. So now he’s sitting here.

This is what operations manager Bjørnar Gaasvik in the police says.

The accused appeared in court because he refused to pay a fine

The police state that he has been convicted of several offenses before. The operations manager describes the man as an acquaintance of the police.

Do not guard

There was no guard in the courtroom when this happened.

– He has probably left his place at the indictment bench and gone against the judge.

This is what the head of security in Trøndelag District Court, Tom Aage Dahl, says.

– This is a good example of things happening out of nowhere.
