WASHINGTON – Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the top health adviser to President Joe Biden, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The official is fully vaccinated and has received the two reinforcements of the coronavirus vaccine.
FAUCI WAS VACCINATED AND RECEIVED THE TWO BOOST DOSES
As reported by the government, Fauci has mild symptoms and is isolated, performing work tasks remotely from his residence, according to the protocol that is applied in these cases.
It was further reported that Fauci has not been in close physical contact with President Biden in recent days, nor has he been in close physical contact with other senior officials.
Fauci was one of the top members of the White House coronavirus task force during the Trump administration.
Earlier this week, US Health Secretary Xavier Becerra also tested positive for coronavirus. It was the second time Becerra had symptoms and tested positive, according to the AP.
