It was known that Vincent van Gogh walked around in the Flemish Ardennes at the end of the 19th century, before he became a painter. Due to the extra time that was available due to the corona crisis, artist Johan Tahon from Zwalm decided to delve deeper into the story behind his passage there, and he comes to a surprising conclusion: “Vincent van Gogh became a painter thanks to a push from Reverend Pieterszen. from Korsele, near Horebeke.” Tahon conducted the research together with journalist Lander Deweer and Erfgoed Vlaamse Ardennes.
