Two men were injured late last night in a stabbing at a house on Ekkerstraat in Bergeijk. The victim, a 32-year-old Pole, was stabbed in the leg. The suspect, a 37-year-old Pole, was also injured. Both were treated in hospital for their injuries. The police confiscated the knife.
According to the police, it is an argument that got out of hand, in which several people were involved. Twelve people were present, all of Polish and Hungarian descent. It is not yet clear what led to the stabbing. Those involved have yet to be heard with the help of an interpreter.
Quite a few officers came to Ekkerstraat. They found several people at the house in question. Everyone had to sit on the sidewalk and then identify themselves one by one, according to a 112 correspondent. Photos show that the windows of the front door of the house in question are broken. Also, the door is smeared and there are dark stains on the wall and driveway. It is not clear whether these are bloodstains.
